Today's planning tools are genuinely good. They give you an accurate picture of the company as it stands — a snapshot, sharp and current. But you cannot ask a snapshot what happens next. Pilots get a model of the aircraft they can crash a hundred times before breakfast. We thought executives deserved the same.

I've spent nearly twenty years in industrial automation — the early years commissioning control systems on plant floors, from oil and gas to packaging, where one wrong line of code stops the line, and is traced back to its source within the hour; the later years as a partner leading the engineering teams that build those systems for energy and data-center clients. What that career taught me is that systems almost never fail from one catastrophic mistake. They fail from small decisions made without a view of the whole — and from temporary fixes that quietly become the way things are done. Companies fail the same way — they just decline quietly, in minutes and ledgers, visible only in quarterly reports and the headcount purges that follow. We are building the model that makes that decline traceable, so leaders can see what a decision will do before they have to live with what it did.

We should be honest about who this is not for. An engagement begins with roughly six weeks of calibration — your data, your history, your past decisions, very much including the regrettable ones — with the founder personally involved throughout. It is deliberately intensive. If what you want is a dashboard, several hundred companies will cheerfully sell you one by Friday.
